Pocket PC Applications

One of the cutting edge technologies that AV2 makes use of is a PDA device called the Pocket PC (PPC). This handheld device is actually a full blown computer in miniature size allowing us to provide full integration with AV2. By providing real time wireless access to the server, this new approach allows for great time savings with on-lot vehicle management. Some of the tasks which can be done with the PPC and our integrated AV2 software are:

• Capturing Vehicle Images - Typically the process of capturing a vehicle picture involves using a digital camera, a USB cable, PC software, and of course you have to write down which order you took the pictures so that once you upload the pictures to your computer you can match up the pictures to the correct stock numbers.. what a hassle! However, using a PPC and our custom software the process of taking a picture takes less time then it took to read this sentence! Simply point the camera at the car and review the live preview on the PPC screen, when you are happy with the shot click a button then tap in the vehicle stock number you're done! The image is wirelessly transferred to the AV2 server where some post-processing is performed to clean up the image and scale it down for use on your dealership website, and for export to any one of several websites who support automated import (such as CarPages.ca, MotoSeller.com, WinnipegVehicles.com, etc). In addition, the images can be used when printing quotes for customers, or for professional looking windows stickers.
  AV2 support multiple images per vehicle (front, side, rear, interior, etc) and images can be loaded at anytime to review or delete from the PPC. You can also access a list which tells you which vehicles on the lot are missing pictures.
• Quick Quote - Salespeople need to be able to quote accurate rates. Using the PPC and our software any salesperson can generate a precise quote including before tax and after tax values, balloon payments, and even insurance premiums too! The PPC gives them the freedom to do this from anywhere on the lot. With a click of a button they can be shown vehicles in the range of the quote to offer intelligent choices to the customer.
• SalesPerson Inventory Search - Salespersons can use the PPC to search the dealership inventory based on make, model, price, colour, etc. Imagine the professional image your salespersons will exude when they bring up details and service records, for the vehicle a customer is interested in, on their PPC.
• Lot Managing - The PPC is a great tool for helping with the weekly (or monthly) physical inventory check. The PPC will display a list of all vehicles with stock number, make, model, vin, color and as you walk the lot you simply check off each vehicle from the list thus making it smaller and easier to search visually. When you are finished you will instantly be able to see which vehicles are not accounted for as they will be the only remaining vehicles in the list! You can also add vehicles to the system on the fly, or edit existing vehicle information should they be not entered yet. No papers, no wasted time!
